C.ex Coffs scoops the pool at Awards of Excellence

C.ex Coffs has won 3 of the club industry's most prestigious awards last Friday night at the ClubsNSW Awards for excellence ceremony at Darling Harbour, Sydney.

Demonstrating just how far it has progressed in recent years, the Club was rewarded for an outstanding 2009, with wins for Outstanding Financial Management, Best Club Restaurant-Rendezvous and Best Club Keno.

The Club was recognised by achieving finalist status in seven categories being, Best Club Keno, Best Club Restaurant, Best Club Entertainment, Best Club Gaming Venue, Outstanding Environmental Sustainability Award, Encouragement of Amateur Sport Award and Outstanding Financial Management.

“We were up against the biggest clubs in the state such as Mountie’s, Campbelltown Catholic Club, Dee Why RSL Club, Revesby Workers, Sydney Rowing Club and Club Marconi, so it’s absolutely outstanding for us to be recognised as the best in the industry” John Rafferty, C.ex Group CEO.

“It is fantastic to be recognised by our industry as one of the premier venues in the state, it is great for Coffs Harbour, as well as for the Board, management and staff who continually strive to improve our level of service, and it is a tribute to our member’s and visitors for the wonderful support of the Club” John said.

With a series of major projects completed over the past 18 months including a new 3 level car park, the construction of 2 synthetic bowling greens, the launch of a new fine dining restaurant, Rendezvous and the opening of an outdoor gaming area, more than 50,000 extra visitors came through the Club doors.

The Club further strengthened its reputation as a family friendly venue by introducing a children's play area, the Little Diggers Kids Club, beside the Brasserie, which itself was completely renovated.

CEO of ClubsNSW David Costello said, C.ex Coffs has long been a leader among regional clubs but has now elevated itself to one of Australia's premier clubs.

"What impresses me most about the Club is its continual efforts to improve and look for ways of better supporting its community.

"The recognition of Rendezvous as the best club restaurant in the State is a great example of the Club listening to what the community and local stakeholders said they wanted.

"The Club has responded by creating the 'must dine' venue on the mid-north coast rivalling the region's most impressive restaurants including those in 5 star resorts dotted along the coast.

"Coffs Harbour is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's only appropriate in C.ex Coffs that the region has a world class club", David Costello said.

C.ex Coffs received their 3 awards at a gala dinner at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday night.
